Umm, What is Dundoc?

Well, you’re in the right place. Dundoc is a website dedicated to help you build and manage your very own Game Design Documents. Only, the projects you might create are not really documents per se, but an application to manage your game design ideas and present them professionally before game development. Come on in, let me show you what we got.

How do you say, Dundoc?

Let’s first address the name.  Dundoc.  It is pronounced, `Done-Doc`.  Yes, that’s exactly what is sounds like.  Done doc.    Done with documents.  We want to destroy those documents you’ve been using.   Yeah, the same way you defeated King Koopa in Super Mario Brothers on Nintendo.  Um, yeah, I know you beat it.  If you haven’t,  please stop reading this and go do it!  Just kidding.  Keep reading, then go beat it.

We are in a new era of the internet, so it’s time to explore building a standard Game Design Document in a new way.  Some of you may believe that the way you’ve been doing it, works.  I’m sure it does, but wouldn’t you like to explore a potentially better way?  A way that could potentially allow you to focus on the idea instead of the ugly way you manage multiple files?

Yes. Good.

That’s how I want you to approach this.  Although you love using that Word document, Notepad, sheet of paper, Google drive, etc., or that starter template you been boasting about, I want you to see how you can develop your ideas quickly, share them, and show them off to the world, if you decide to do so.

What are some of the benefits of using Dundoc?

One of most difficult things to do in life, in general, is to know where and how to start.  Dundoc aims to allow you to focus on exploring your ideas without worrying about where to start.  It can be challenging sometimes to come up with a great idea for a game. When you do have an awesome idea, it's even more challenging to develop that idea.  Dundoc provides an easy way for you to jump start your idea.  After you sign up, you can begin to use the application.   The first step is to review a couple of our starter templates and decide how you want to begin.  The choice is yours, the red pill or the blue pill (come on, you know where that’s from).

What’s a starter template?
