Game Introduction

Cube Zone is a frantic puzzle game!

Think fast, combine the colors on the board or drop them all before you reach the end!

It may seem easy at first, but we guarantee that our different maps and miscellaneous mechanics will put you to the test!

How to Play

  • Use the keyboard or controller directional keys to scroll the cube in the same direction.
  • In Last Standing mode, , go through all map positions by knocking them down before reaching the end position.
  • In Get All Colors mode, match the colors on the board with the matching cube colors. Collect all the colors to pass the level.
  • Each Stage requires a minimum number of cubes collected on the maps for the next Stage to be unlocked.

Game Architechture

Developed in Unity Pro 2017.3.1 using Visual Studio 2017

User Interface (controls)

Keyboard:

  • Directional to move the player and navigate through HUD
  • Enter to select HUD components
  • Esc to pause

Heads Up Display (HUD)

Splash Screen: has a video of the Blazewing logo, lasts around 10 seconds and loads all the content of the assets, not requiring loading screens.

Main Menu: has two game mode options and one exit option.

Map Selection: option to return to the main menu or select one of the available maps. If you select a locked map the user is alerted to the need to complete the previous map or if it is a map of a blocked Stage, the user is warned about the need to conquer 'x' Cubes to unlock the map.

Gameplay: the map number, the stage, the playing time, and the time lost for Cubes are displayed. When completing the map is displayed above the gameplay an option to return to the map selection menu, the time and cubes won during the progress of the game and options to start over and continue to the next map. When entering the pause menu during gameplay, a menu with options to resume, resume or exit to the map selection menu is displayed above the gameplay.

Player

Last Stading Mode: the cube has the same color on all 6 sides.

Get All Colors Mode: the cube has the same colors as a rubik cube on each side, being white, orange, yellow, red, blue, and green.

Level Design

All game maps were created from MapMaker developed by us.
The maps follow the proposal of evolving with the user, including new mechanics at each Stage discovered by the user and making the map difficult with the time limit of completion of the level.

Audio & Sound F/x

SFX is by artist's "Little Robot Sound Factory"
The soundtrack of the game is from the artist "Neocrey"
Including some SFX and tracks that were made by us
