Game Introduction

SO......  My game is basically where you've to look after a pet, meaning feeding, walking etc.

I looked into different types of animal games like nintendogs, tamagotchi and i also played with a couple of apps which have to do with taking care of animals and other things that come with it. I enjoyed looking at the apps and games and looking into the design of the game within. I don't know yet whether i want to have a choice of animal or just have the one animal. That is something I can think of at some stage before the making of the game.

Story

You always wanted to know what it’s like to have a child, well this is the next best thing!!! Your role is to look after an animal like a child and make sure they are fed etc....

you are now a responsible adult and you have a little life to mind and keep safe!!!! Make sure you walk or exercise your animal!!!

How to Play

As this game begins you will be in charge of your very own pet (animal yet to be decided)

Your animal will need some taking care of and that will be your job! You will look at where to have your animal, feed the animal as you go and also make sure the animal is clean and has a full bill of health. You will need to looking after the pet everyday, bringing them on walks etc.

You will need a mouse and keyboard which a lot of people have to be able to make this game. Arrow keys will be the most important thing within this game to move things.

Make sure you wash your animal to keep them clean and where they sleep!!!!! And don’t forget to buy food using money to feed your animal !!

Game Architechture

User Interface (controls)

The controls for my game will include the mouse , arrows and the space bar!!

Artwork (design)

Looking at the games I have played I want to keep it like a cartoon and simple. The images below are images I looked at when I did some research.

Characters

When thinking about characters I didn't want to have too many because it would not look the same. So I decided to go with two. The first character would be the person who is playing the game. The second character will be the animal itself.

The personal character will have their own name that you will enter at the beginning of the game. I will have two template characters, one a girl and the other a boy but during the game it will be in the eyes on the player so you won't see the character full body.

The animal is more or less the same.

Level Design

In terms of levels I think the better you look after your animal the higher the level you get.

Level one could be just to mind it and then get more advanced at the levels go on. As you mind your pet you will move up levels which brings you to competitions etc.

Global Elements

For my game the person playing is the camera throughout, so you won't see them in sight of the view but you may potentially see their hands to hand the pet food, walk it etc.

The pet will be a visual like you were looking through the players eyes.

Audio & Sound F/x

I do want to have audio for my game as it will add effect to the game. I want the audio to be calm but also fun. I would love to have the audio for the animal in the game if it works out.

Marketing

When my game is complete it will only be for college use but maybe in the future I can use it worldwide. If i were to promote it I would bring it to kids and parents because they would be the main target audience. The reason I would bring it to parents is because of the care of their children, showing them it is safe and it's not bad for their child.
